Privacy and cookies

How we handle your data.

We collect very little, we set no cookies, and we say plainly what happens to what you send us.

Changed on 16 October 2026: the “Get involved” form can now record the amount you offer for a one-time donation, and the buttons of the cookie notice are now called “Accept” and “Decline”.

At a glance

  • This site sets no cookies.
  • There are no analytics, advertising or social-media trackers.
  • Your language and your choice about optional content are saved in your own browser, nowhere else.
  • Forms collect only what is listed below. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.
  • Nothing is paid for on this site.

Who is responsible

Versailles Vivant is a fictional organisation created for a university course project (Business Practice, FCSE/FINKI, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, 2025/2026). For this demonstration, the data controller is the project's author, a student at that faculty. You can reach her through the contact form.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form: your name, email address, topic and message — used only to reply to you. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Kept for up to 12 months.
  • Event reservation form: name, email, chosen event and number of people — used to manage that event. Legal basis: consent. Kept until 30 days after the event.
  • Newsletter and “Get involved” forms: your email address, and your name, your interest and the amount you offer, if you give them — used to answer you or to send the monthly email. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Kept until you withdraw it.
  • Abuse protection: to stop spam, the server briefly remembers your IP address in memory (about ten minutes) to limit repeated submissions. It is not written to disk.

This site does not process payments and collects no card or bank details. The donation and membership forms are demonstrations.

If this site is published without its server (as plain files), the forms send nothing to us: they open your own email app with your message, and nothing is stored on the website.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. It does use your browser's local storage for two small items, both caused by your own choices:

  • vv_language — remembers the language you chose (English, French or Macedonian). Kept until you clear your browser data.
  • vv_consent — remembers your answer to the notice about optional content (the map) and when you gave it. Kept for 12 months, then we ask again.

Neither item identifies you, and neither is sent to us or to anyone else. They are preferences you set yourself, which the ePrivacy rules treat as strictly necessary. You can change your choice at any time with “Manage cookie preferences” in the footer, or clear it in your browser settings.

Third parties

  • Fonts, scripts and charts are hosted on this site. No Google Fonts, content delivery networks or tracking scripts are used.
  • Photographs are hosted on this site, so no photo library receives your data when you view them. Flickr photos are credited beside the photo, as their CC BY licence requires; Unsplash photos are used under the Unsplash Licence and are credited to Unsplash.
  • Map: the interactive OpenStreetMap map on the Contact page loads only after you click “Load interactive map” or if you chose “Accept” in the cookie notice. From then on, openstreetmap.org receives your IP address and its own privacy policy applies.
  • Links to other websites, such as our sources, are your own choice to follow; we are not responsible for their content.

Your rights

At any time you can:

  • Ask to see the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Restrict or object to the processing of your data
  • Withdraw your consent, without affecting earlier processing

To use these rights, write to us through the contact form. We answer within one month.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679) applies to visitors in the EU, and in North Macedonia the Law on Personal Data Protection (Official Gazette 42/2020) applies. You may complain to the Personal Data Protection Agency of North Macedonia (azlp.mk) or to the data protection authority in your own country.

Security

The site is served with security headers (including a strict Content-Security-Policy). Form messages are stored in a file on the server that only the administrator can read.

If we change this policy we will update the date below and describe what changed at the top of this page.
